About Laxmi Exports

An armchair in a room with an artistic hand printed contemporary cushion that feels lived in. Pattern play in the garden palette of pink and lilac adorn the floor in the form of a dhurrie. Handbound books. Steaming hot coffee in a hand-thrown mug placed on a Laxmi Export. This saga of Indian Handcrafted Textiles began in tone-on-tone designed placemat. Handmade Indian block print 8 and paisley curtains draw the eye up, toward the room’s high ceilings.

Welcome to our living room!

Be it in the traffic congested city or a quaint little town, our space communicates ideas and narratives that are quintessentially Indian. We are all about contemporary Indian textiles crafted using traditional techniques. The fabrics used to make our products reflect the life of our craftsmen.

CREATING A NEW TRADITION

LAXMI EXPORTS, This saga of Indian Handcrafted Textiles began in 2005 by Shri Devi Shanker Berumal Khatri. And ever since, the domestically selling crafts of Sanganer evolved into a family enterprise with extended arms operating globally.

Berumal Khatri began Laxmi Exports with a dream and a mission.

The dream was to create a brand that was an alchemy of past and present, a unique blend of art and function. The mission was to include artisans and their families because he wanted to foster and encourage the Indian craftsman not only by creating opportunities but also giving them the freedom of expressing their own stories through art. Inclusivity was the message.

And today, our artisans strike the perfect balance between old, time-honored traditions with a modern punch

“He observed, he understood, he questioned and then he surprised.” – Mr. Daulat Khatri (the second generation entrepreneur).

A keen eye for detail and design, he puts his heart and soul into every design that we create. With an ideology to create designs that speak about craftsmanship, narrates a story, depicts authenticity and quality, last beyond a season; Mr. Khatri has carved out a significant presence for Laxmi Exports being the manufacturer, wholesaler, retailer and exporter for Indian textiles and handloom.

Following his meandering creative instinct, he spent a lot of time exploring the artistic village of Sanganer and talking to the families of craftsmen who are truly the proud torchbearers of this art. Therefore, though our designs are created through traditional techniques of block printing and screen printing, each product is original and timeless that talks a different story.
